What the Fantastic Film Slate is up Movie Mates?
It’s that time of year again where the Hollywood film gods bestow upon us an amazing line up of wonderful Movies to kick off the summer blockbuster season. This summer is going to be filled with all the Blockbuster movies ya’ll didn’t even know you needed. But look, we are all adults here, we know how to look up what movies are playing. I don’t need to hold your hand and talk about Thunderbolts, Lilo and Stitch, Final Destination, Mission Impossible, or Karate Kid: Legends. I haven’t talked about this one in a while but Open Mic night is the 2nd Tuesday of every month. How many people get to stand on stage in front of a movie theater and perform a song, magic trick, or slam poetry? Probably not that many. If you do perform slam poetry, please please please sign up. Oaks Center needs a little more Slam Poetry in its life. If you are not a performer than grab a cocktail or seven and watch various talented locals perform.
Our last magic show was AMAZING, dude pulled not one, not two, but three Rabbits out of thin air. After the show he let all the kids, including myself pet the Rabbits, little baby chicks, and the snake. I chose not to pet the snake, not out of fear but out of something else. May 17th we will be joined by another great magician, Denny Corby! On May 30th we have “Life Mantras and Mingling: a TED style Social Soiree” not only is the word Soiree cool but there will be a panel discussion and Q&A featuring local leaders in business, public office, and Industry. This event is inspired by Host Navixha Bagga’s most recent TEDx talk and will give you a chance to connect with all these wonderful like-minded business people.
After hosting a social soiree on Friday we will be hypnotizing people on Saturday! Hypnotize America will be hosting “The Chaotic Hypnotic Game Show” on Saturday March 31st. Guests have a chance to sign up to hypnotized and play a games vs non-hypnotized guests for some really cool prizes. You gotta go watch the videos on this, it looks like a good time.
